Intro course starts 10th january
Introduction to Buddhism & Meditation 6 week course
Starts Wednesday 10th January 2018 7.30pm for six Wednesdays at the Quaker Meeting House
There is an old English saying: ‘Sow a thought, reap an action. Sow an action, reap a habit. Sow a habit, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny’.
The Buddha would have agreed with that. According to the Buddha, what we think, what we do with our minds, is the most crucial factor in how happy we will be.
This course will help us become more aware of the thoughts and habits of mind that are shaping our lives.
We'll learn two types of meditation and other practical tools for freeing up the creativity of our minds, and living lives that are more happy and satisfying.
The course will be suitable for those totally new to meditation and Buddhism, and also anyone who has learnt mindfulness meditation and wants to explore further. It will be led by Vajragupta and Alobhin, members of the Triratna Buddhist Order.
Vajragupta is the author of several books on Buddhism: https://www.windhorsepublications.com/
Charge by voluntary donation.
At the end of the course, if you'd like to take your interest further, you'd be welcome to join our friendly group of regulars who meet on Thursdays 7.00pm at the Quaker Meeting House.
