Intro course starts 19th September
Introduction to Buddhism & Meditation 6 week course
Starts Wednesday 19th September 2018 7.30pm for six Wednesdays at Christchurch Clarendon Park (105a Clarendon Park Rd)
Our informal 'drop in' style courses are run several times a year. These six week courses teach the basics of meditation and Buddhism and by the end of the six weeks you will know the two meditations that we practice. After the six weeks, you will be invited to join our main sangha. If you'd like to come to one of our courses, you'd be very welcome to just turn up although if you have any queries or you would like to let us know that you're coming, please feel free to contact us.
Each week is designed so that they can be attended independently of each other, so there's no need to commit to coming every week. The courses are led by members of the Triratna order, usually our local order member, Alobhin.
The theme for each week is shown below:
Week 1: What is Buddhism?
Week 2: Who was the Buddha?
Week 3: The Buddhist approach to ethics
Week 4: What is meditation?
Week 5: Developing wisdom
Week 6: The poetic dimension: faith and imagination in Buddhism
